Johann Fuchs (also: Janez Nepomuk Fuchs , * 1727 in Neiss (= Neisse ?), Silesia ; † May 9, 1804 in Marburg an der Drau ) was a Lower Styrian church builder, alongside Josef Hueber the main representative of the "Styrian Baroque" in the 3rd quarter of the 18th century .

biography

Fuchs came to Marburg in the early 1750s as an employee of the architect Josef Hoffer . After Hoffer's death, he married his widow Barbara, took over the well-known workshop and soon became rich.

It is known for its oval floor plans (Marburg an der Drau, Pregrada ). Its architecture belongs essentially to the late baroque, in its late period classical influences can be clearly discerned.
