Johann Georg Allgeyer the Elder J.
Johann Georg Allgeyer the Elder J. (* around 1719 in Hofen ; † 1806 there ) was a German organ builder .
Life
Allgeyer came from the well-known Hofener organ building dynasty Allgeyer . He was the son of the Hofener organ builder Johann Georg Allgeyer the Elder. Ä. and brother of the organ builder Joseph Allgeyer , who worked in Wasseralfingen , and the joiner Johannes Allgeyer (1712–1782). In 1749 he married his wife Anna Barbara Graule, who was also from Hofen. The marriage remained childless.
After the death of his father, he took over the organ building business in Hofen and continued to run it successfully throughout his life. His works include the Baroque organ in the Peter and Paul Church in today Crailsheim related Altenmuenster 1752, the trade Senfelder Organ 1755, the Unterriffinger 1758, 1913 decommissioned in Amlishagen of 1763, as well as the organ of the Sanctuary Unterkochen 1768 / 70. Furthermore, he restored and repaired existing organ works and rebuilt them.
With his death in 1806, organ building in Hofen came to an end for lack of a successor.
