In 1771 Böhme married the widow of the Leipzig council architect Johann Caspar Richter (1708–1770), Christiana Regina nee Hetzer (1724–1780), and thus came into the possession of the Gohlis castle , the interior of which he had completed. He also suggested the first walk from Leipzig through the Rosental to Gohlis , which was laid out in 1777.

In 1772, Böhme acquired the Gohlis manor from the estate of Professor Lüder Mencke (1658–1726) from Leipzig , thereby becoming heir, feudal lord and court lord of the village of Gohlis.

With his wife, Böhme established four foundations totaling 4,240 thalers in their joint will of March 20, 1776 and other additions; three of the foundations were later merged to form the Vespers Service Foundation for Gohlis, the fourth was run as the Böhmesche Foundation.

After his death, his wife inherited the castle and manor.
