Johannes Heinrich Beckmann (born July 23, 1802 in Ostercappeln ; † July 30, 1878 in Osnabrück ) was Bishop of Osnabrück from 1866 to 1878 .

Beckmann was ordained a priest on December 20, 1828 in Osnabrück . From 1858 to 1866 he was vicar general of the Osnabrück bishop Paulus Melchers . On April 5, 1866 he was elected Bishop of Osnabrück and on June 22 of the same year by Pope Pius IX. approved. The episcopal ordination donated him the now Archbishop of Cologne appointed Paul Melchers 1866. October 18, co-consecrators were the Bishop of Hildesheim , Eduard Jakob Wedekin , and the Cologne Auxiliary Bishop Johann Anton Friedrich Baudri .

Beckmann was the councilor of the First Vatican Council .
