Johann Helfrich Chuno

Johann Helfrich Chuno (born June 1632 in Kassel ; † January 12, 1686 in Ziegenhain ) was a German legal scholar and mayor of Kassel.

Life

Johann Helfrich was the son of the imperial notary and court actuary in Kassel Johann Chuno (around 1596–1677) and his wife Anna Margarethe Schönckboerck. From 1648 he attended the pedagogy in Kassel and enrolled at the University of Heidelberg on November 22, 1652 in order to study law. On March 17, 1655 he received his doctorate in law from the University of Basel . He then worked as a lawyer in Kassel and was elected mayor there in 1665 and 1666. On August 13, 1673 he became a full professor of law at the University of Rinteln , where in 1674 he worked as the Graflich-Schaumburg councilor and chancellery director. On June 25, 1678, he returned to Kassel as Landgrave Hessian counselor and lawyer Fisci . He died at the age of 53 years and six months and was buried in Kassel.

Chuno has been married twice. His first marriage was on September 15, 1659 in Hardegesen with Elisabeth Magdalene Pape (born January 1, 1636 in Kassel, † December 18, 1678 in Rinteln), the daughter of the Braunschweig-Lüneburg War, Government and Guardian Jakob Arnold Pape. His second marriage was on July 28, 1680 with Elisabeth Louise Appelius, the daughter of the count's court preacher Johann Appelius (* around 1590 in Auerbach an der Bergstrasse ; † June 17, 1668 in Bückeburg ) and his second wife, who was married on February 19, 1646 Elisabeth Viëtor (* Schaumburg near Rinteln; † June 17, 1668 in Bückeburg). There are four daughters and five sons from his first marriage. A son from second marriage. From the children we know:

  • Johann Jacob Julius Chuno (* October 1661 in Kassel; † December 30, 1715 in Berlin) married in 1696 to Louise Katharina Butendach (* 1677), the daughter of the Chamber Secretary Heinrich Butendach.
  • Johann Helfrich Chuno (* 1667; † June 15, 1714 in Friedewald) was a military man and bailiff in Friedewald , married to Johanna Maria Susanne Du Mont (* July 2, 1678 in Kassel), the daughter of the major general and commander in Kassel Georg Du Mont , Widow of Lieutenant Colonel von Buttlar
  • Regnerus Chuno (born October 23, 1668 in Kassel; † March 31, 1726 in Kassel) chief tax collector and secret registrar in Kassel, married on May 21, 1693 in Kassel to Anna Katharina Wolfert, the daughter of the fruit writer Johannes Wolffarth (also: Wohlfarth) ; * October 15, 1630?; † May 26, 1693 in Kassel (62 yrs., 7th m., 11 d.)
