Johann Hencke

Johann Hencke (born December 3, 1697 in Geseke , North Rhine-Westphalia, † September 24, 1766 in Vienna ) was an Austrian organ builder .

Life

Johann Hencke was trained by Heinrich Mencke in Beckum . He then went on a hike and came to Vienna around 1722. After taking the Viennese oath in 1725, he founded his own organ building workshop. Hencke also built the first organs in the Banat .

His daughter Ursula married the Viennese organ builder Anton Pfliegler , who continued Hencke's workshop.
