Johann Loos

Johann Loos (born July 18, 1949 in Apetlon ; † July 18, 2018 there ) was an Austrian army officer and politician ( ÖVP ). Loos was a member of the Austrian National Council between 2000 and 2002 .

education and profession

Loos attended elementary school and high school. Loos did his military service in 1966 and had been a member of the Austrian army since 1967. In 1976 he passed the external diploma. He then attended the military academy from 1977 to 1980. In addition, Loos attended the National Defense Academy , where he completed his staff officer training and attended various courses. Loos was most recently a colonel in the General Staff.

politics

Loos was a local councilor in Apetlon from 1977 to 1981 and vice mayor from 1981 to 1982. Loos was mayor of the municipality from 1982 , in the municipal council elections in 2007 Loos no longer stood and handed over his office to his successor Ronald Peyer on January 8, 2007. From 1987 Loos was also district chairman of the ÖAAB Neusiedl am See .

Loos represented the ÖVP from 1987 to 2002 as a member of the Burgenland Landtag and was a member of the National Council from May 8, 2000 to December 19, 2002. Loos named the areas of national defense, security, social affairs and the EU as focal points of his work in the National Council. In 2002 Loos was nominated for the Big Brother Award after introducing a passage in the reorganization law accompanying the Military Authorization Act that guarantees the military extensive rights to information about all customers of telecom and mobile phone network operators.

Loos was married and had three daughters.
