Life

Fäustle attended St. Stephan high school in Augsburg and studied law at the University of Munich . Here he founded the public association , today's fraternity Danubia Munich, with some fellow students on March 6, 1848 .

After completing his doctorate , Fäustle became a court trainee at the appellate court in Neuburg an der Donau , in 1857 a court assessor at the district court in Augsburg, 1858 counselor at the district court in Donauwörth , 1860 assessor at the appellate court in Neuburg, 1862 chairman of the city court in Munich and in 1865 a consultant in the justice ministry and Landtag Commissioner .

In 1871 he became Bavarian Minister of Justice in the place of Johann von Lutz . In 1872 Fäustle was honored with the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Bavarian Crown and thus raised to the Bavarian personal nobility . In the same year he became a member of the German Federal Council and the Judiciary Committee and took an important part in the processing of the new German judicial laws, just as he led their introduction in Bavaria and worked for the reform of the Bavarian judiciary. A staunch advocate of the rights of the crown and the state of Bavaria , he remained at the same time a loyal supporter of the German Empire and moderately liberal principles.

Fäustle was married to Philippine von Stengel, daughter of the District President Carl Albert Leopold von Stengel (1784-1865). The marriage resulted in 3 daughters, of which Julie Fäustle married the later Bavarian Justice Minister Heinrich von Thelemann (1851-1923) and Marie married the banker Wilhelm von Finck (1848-1924).
