Johann Nikolaus Bach (born October 10 . Jul / 20th October  1669 greg. In Eisenach , † 4. November 1753 in Jena ) was a German composer from the Bach family .

He was the son of the organist Johann Christoph Bach and was tutored by him. He attended the Eisenach Latin School . From 1690 he studied at the University of Jena and was a student of the Jena city organist Johann Magnus Knüpfer, a son of the Thomaskantor Sebastian Knüpfer .
