Johann Philipp Kahler (born June 9, 1726 in Rinteln , † October 13, 1792 in Grove ) was a German Protestant theologian .

Life

Johann Philipp was the son of theology professor Wigand Kahler . He began on September 28, 1742 at the University of Rinteln to study philosophical and theological sciences. After he had acquired the academic degree of a master's degree in philosophy in Rinteln on March 28, 1747, he continued his studies on April 19, 1747 at the University of Jena . In 1748 he returned to Ernestia in Rinteln and held philosophical and mathematical lectures at the university there. After he had become a member of the German Society in Göttingen , he was appointed imperial poet in Göttingen on December 12, 1749, and on December 20 of the same year he was rector of the Ratsschule in Rinteln. In 1750 he founded the German society in Rinteln and took over a position as pastor in Grove-Rodenberg on February 17, 1754. In 1754 he was to become rector of the grammar school in Hameln and in 1768 professor of theology at the University of Rinteln, which he refused, however.

Kahler married on January 20, 1757 with Anna Louise Beisner (born August 3, 1736 in Hessisch Oldendorf; † July 4, 1814 in Sachsenhagen), the daughter of the merchant in Hessisch Oldendorf Johann Wilhelm Beisner (born September 17, 1695 in Oldendorf; † May 1744 ibid) and his wife Anna Sophie Regine Floto (born June 24, 1716 in Linse / Weser; † October 2, 1783 in Oldendorf). There are children from the marriage. We know of these:

She is the great-great-great-grandmother of Silvia von Sweden through the marriage of her daughter Marie Philippine Meine (born March 13, 1800 in Deckbergen, † July 2, 1874 in Apelern) on February 16, 1832 in Deckbergen with Pastor Johann Heinrich Philipp Sommerlath (March 12, 1800 in Rinteln; † March 7, 1884 in Apelern)
