Johann Steinböck
Johann Steinböck (born June 12, 1894 in Frauenhofen bei Horn , Lower Austria ; † January 14, 1962 in Vienna ) was a farmer and politician ( ÖVP ) and governor of Lower Austria.
Life
Johann Steinböck comes from a long-established farming family in Frauenhofen. In addition to his work on his father's farm, he was already politically involved in the farmers' union and a member of the CS .
politics
In Frauenhofen bei Horn he became mayor in 1928 and a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament in 1932 , where he headed the municipal department from 1934 to 1938. After the Second World War he was again a member of parliament and on May 5, 1949 became governor of Lower Austria. He held this office until his death in 1962. At the same time he was also President of the Lower Austrian Farmers' Union.
His son Josef also became politically active.
