Johann Thomas Petry

Johann Thomas Petry , also Johann Thomas Petri , (* 1720 in Bundenbach , † 1799 in Schneppenbach ) was a German builder who u. a. by Prince Johann XI. Albert Philipp Joseph Prince Dominik von Salm-Kyrburg (1708–1778) was appointed court architect of Salm-Kyrburg and created numerous sacred buildings .

Life

Johann Thomas Petry was born the son of the magistrate and master builder Thomas Petry († 1743) and his wife Anna Barbara Petry and married Anna Gertrud Petry, born Stein (1727–1796), the daughter of the married couple Johann Heinrich Stein, on November 8, 1746 in Schneppenbach and Anna Maria Stein née Fey. Their marriage resulted in 17 children.

Professional background

After training with Johann Georg Seitz , Johannes Seiz's father , he was appointed master builder in 1760.
