Johann Wolfgang Freymann

Johann Wolfgang Freymann (also: Freymonius von Hohen-Randeck) (born March 13, 1546 in Ingolstadt ; † November 10, 1610 in Schloss Randeck ) was a lawyer, regimental councilor and imperial vice-chancellor .

Johann Wolfgang was born as the son of Rochus Freymann, Bavarian court procurator and provost of Berchtesgaden, and his mother from an Ingolstadt council family. In 1551 he attended the poetry school in Munich with Hieronymus Ziegler, Johann Walter and Georg Agricola. In 1558 he studied in Ingolstadt, in 1561 in Freiburg and in 1571 was awarded a Dr. iur. PhD. In 1573 he worked at the Imperial Court of Speyer and in 1575 as a regimental councilor in Burghausen .

In 1575 he married Anna Geißhofer, the daughter of a Munich city council, with whom he had six children. After moving to Munich in 1581, he became a trainee lawyer at the Imperial Court Council. In 1583 he moved to Vienna. After the death of his wife in 1584, he married Veronika Lerchenfeld in Regensburg in 1587 . In 1586 he acquired Mühlfeld Castle on the Ammersee . From 1594 to 1597 Freymann was Imperial Vice Chancellor and was enfeoffed with Randeck-Neuessing for his services in 1596.
