Johannes Berg (politician)

Johannes Berg (born May 28, 1958 in Trier ; † November 9, 2001 in Mainz ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

After graduating from Cusanus-Gymnasium Wittlich in 1977 and completing basic military service from 1977 to 1978, Berg studied law at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz from 1978 to 1963 and passed the first state examination in law and the assessor examination in 1986. He then worked as a lawyer and specialist lawyer for tax law.

Berg became a member of the CDU and the Junge Union in 1973 . From 1981 to 1988 he was a member of the JU state board before he became chairman of the municipal association in Wittlich-Land in 1988. From 1989 to 1994 he was a member of the Verbandsgemeinderat Wittlich-Land , after which he became a member of the Bernkastel-Wittlich district assembly and chairman of the CDU district assembly there. On May 20, 1996, Johannes Berg became a member of the State Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate . In 2001 he was re-elected in his constituency , but died only a few months later. In the state parliament he was deputy chairman of the electoral review committee and member of the investigative committee »Red Light«, secretary of parliament, member of the commission at the state commissioner for data protection, petitions committee, legal committee, penitentiary commission and the investigation committee »DIZ«.

Berg left a wife and two daughters. Elfriede Meurer took over the state parliament mandate .
