Johannes Frankenbach (born March 6, 1982 in Wiesbaden ) is a German chef.

Career

Johannes "Jean" Frankenbach grew up in his parents' hotel, coffee house and restaurant in Eltville am Rhein . The Francophile family spent their holidays and vacations in France with a culinary focus. After finishing school, he completed an apprenticeship as a chef in the Kronenschlößchen restaurant in Eltville am Rhein from 1999 to 2003 , which he completed as the best of his year. He then moved to Berlin to join the founding team of the Vitrum restaurant in the Ritz Carlton on Potsdamer Platz under head chef Thomas Kellermann . From 2005 he worked in the 3 Michelin-starred restaurant of the Victor's Residenz Hotel Schloß Berlin in Perl-Nennig under head chef Christian Bau . The next stops between 2007 and 2010 were the Heinz Winkler residence in Aschau , which was also awarded 3 Michelin stars, and the Ikarus restaurant in Hangar 7, Salzburg, under chef Roland Trettl and patron Eckard Witzigmann . Frankenbach put then in the Steigenberger Hotel School Bad Reichenhall his master's certificate for chefs from as valedictorian.

In 2011 Frankenbach returned to his parents' business in Eltville am Rhein. There he prepared to open his first own restaurant. The restaurant "Jean" in Eltville on the Rhine has been running since 2012 and has been awarded a Michelin star since November 2014.
