Johannes Graf (politician)

John Graf (* 25. December 1714 in Heiden , † 22. July 1787 ibid ; heimatberechtigt in Heiden) was a Swiss mayor , member of the Small Council and Landammann from the canton of Appenzell Outer Rhodes .

Life

Johannes Graf was a son of Conrad Graf, a wealthy farmer , and Anna Bänziger. In 1739 he married Barbara Frischknecht, daughter of Christoph Frischknecht, community Captain of Schwellbrunn .

The wealthy landowner Johannes Graf was mayor and church clerk in 1738 . From 1744 to 1747 he was a state ensign. After being voted out of office as a state official, he again sat on the local council . In 1751 he was again mayor. From 1756 to 1762 he again held the office of state ensign. From 1762 to 1780 he was the national bag master . From 1780 to 1781 he held the office of provincial governor and from 1781 to 1782 he was inactive Landammann of Appenzell Ausserrhoden.
