Johannes Johansen
Johannes Johansen (born September 25, 1870 in Hanerau near Rendsburg, † October 5, 1945 in Düsseldorf-Kaiserswerth ) was Lord Mayor of Krefeld from 1911 to 1930 .
John Johansen studied law at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg , where he is the 1889 Corps Rhenania Freiburg joined. After passing the assessor exam in 1899, he entered the municipal service, first as 2nd, then since 1903 as 1st mayor of the city of Minden . In 1911 he was elected Lord Mayor of the city of Krefeld and remained in this office until 1930. In 1930, upon leaving office, he was made an honorary citizen of Krefeld. From 1903 to 1916 he belonged to the Prussian manor house .
In Krefeld Johannes Johansen was known as "de dubbelde Schäng" because of the similarity of the family name and the first name. In the villa area at Schönwasserpark, the "Johansenaue" and in the Traar district the "Johansenweg" are named after him. In Minden the "Johansenstrasse" was named after him.
