Johannes Krätzig

Johannes Krätzig (born May 29, 1915 in Leipzig ) was a German politician ( CDU ). He was chairman of the Dresden district board and member of the main board of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) in the GDR .

Life

Krätzig, the son of an employee, attended elementary school and learned the profession of insurance salesman between 1931 and 1934 . He then worked in this profession until 1950.

In 1945, Krätzig joined the CDU. In 1950 he became a full-time CDU functionary. From 1950 to 1954 he was district chairman of the CDU in the Dresden-Land district . From 1954 to 1968 he acted as deputy and from May 1968 to 1984 as chairman of the Dresden district association of the CDU. At the 12th party congress in October 1968, Krätzig became a candidate for the main board of the CDU and was a member of it from October 1972 (13th party congress). In March 1987 he was elected honorary member and member of the honorary council of the CDU and in October 1987 at the 16th party congress again as a member of the main board.

From 1958 he was a member of the Dresden District Assembly . He was also a member of the district committee of the National Front and deputy district chairman of the Society for German-Soviet Friendship Dresden.
