Friedrich Mayer (politician)

Friedrich Mayer (born May 20, 1919 in Seestadtl , Northern Bohemia ) is a former German politician ( CDU ) of Sudeten German origin. He was chairman of the Dresden district board and a member of the main board of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) as well as a member of the People's Chamber of the GDR .

Life

Mayer, the son of an economics administrator (Fürstlich Lobkowitzscher Meierhof), attended high school in Komotau and then from 1935 to 1939 the business school in Aussig . From 1932 to 1938 he was a member of the youth association "Staffelstein", an organization of German Catholic youth in Czechoslovakia . After the occupation of the Sudetenland , Mayer became a member of the SS in November 1938 (SS standard 9/103). In January 1941 he was drafted into the Wehrmacht , but studied economics at the universities of Prague and Vienna in 1942/43 . From 1943 he again had to conscientious afford and came as a sergeant in captivity .

After his release he went to the Soviet occupation zone and worked from 1946 to 1950 as a buyer in the Espenhain combine . Mayer joined the CDU in 1949 and was a community representative in Kitscher near Borna from 1949 to 1952 . From 1950 to 1953 he was a member of the district council , district councilor, deputy district administrator and deputy chairman of the Borna district council . Between 1951 and 1953 he completed a distance learning course at the central party school of the CDU. He then acted from December 3, 1953 to May 1968 as chairman of the Dresden district council of the CDU. From October 1952 (6th party congress) to October 1968 (12th party congress) he was also a member of the main board of the CDU.

From 1954 to 1958 and again from 1963 to 1967 he was a member of the Dresden District Assembly and from 1958 to 1963 a member of the People's Chamber and a member of the constitutional committee. Mayer was an unofficial employee of Department V of the MfS district administration in Dresden. After a personal conversation with the Meißen bishop Otto Spülbeck in June 1963, he handed over a detailed report to the MfS.

From 1968 he worked for the VOB Union in Berlin . Most recently, he worked as the plant manager of VEB Harzleim Dresden until he retired .
