Johannes Müller (born August 5, 1905 in Schaffhausen (Saar) , Rhine Province , † May 15, 1992 in Berlin ) was a German trade unionist and politician ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending primary school, Müller completed an apprenticeship as an electrician, which he completed with a journeyman's examination. He passed the test as an electrician and worked from 1925 to 1938 in various companies as an electrical engineer, armature winder, industrial electrician and fitter. From 1938 to 1947 he worked as a fitter and site manager at Siemens-Schuckertwerke in Berlin.

Müller, who was already active in the Christian and liberal trade union movement from 1920 to 1933, helped found trade unions in Berlin after the Second World War . In 1948 he was first union secretary of the union of technicians and foremen and was union secretary of the Berlin DAG from 1950 to 1961 . In 1948/49 he was also a board member of the Independent Trade Union Opposition (UGO). He later completed evening and distance learning at the German University of Politics in Berlin.

Political party

Müller joined the CDU in 1945 and was one of the founders of the CDU local group in Berlin-Weißensee . From 1953 to 1965 he was a member of the state executive committee of the CDU Berlin , from 1959 to 1965 as deputy state chairman. From 1947 to 1959 he acted as a trade union and social officer and as a representative for social policy for the Berlin Christian Democrats.

MP

Müller was a district councilor in the Weißensee district from 1946 to 1948 and a member of the Berlin House of Representatives from 1950 to 1961 . As a West Berlin member of parliament , he was a member of the German Bundestag from 1961 to 1980. Here he was a member of the Committee on Labor and Social Affairs and the Committee on Education and Science.
