Johannes Salzmann

Johannes Salzmann (also: Johann Salzmann; born June 29, 1679 in Strasbourg ; † February 4, 1738 there ) was an anatomist and surgeon .

From 1708 Salzmann was professor of anatomy, later also professor of surgery at the University of Strasbourg . From 1720 he was also the university's librarian.

Johannes Salzmann was the first (from 1708) to conduct regular dissection exercises at a university.

From 1720 he was a member of the Leopoldina and from 1729 a foreign member of the Prussian Academy of Sciences .
