Johannes Scheffler (economist)

Johannes Scheffler (born September 22, 1879 in Eilenburg ; † August 23, 1944 in Dresden ) was a German economist and business economist as well as a professor at the TH Dresden .

Life

After graduating from high school in Porta in 1899, he studied business administration, economics and banking in Berlin, from 1906 at the University of Strasbourg and from 1910 at the University of Breslau . In 1913 he received his doctorate as phil. in Strasbourg and Dr. iur. in Leipzig. 1925 followed the habilitation at the TH Dresden. After a time as a private lecturer in banking , Scheffler was appointed associate professor in Dresden in 1930 and taught there until his death. In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler . In 1937 he became a member of the NSDAP . Scheffler was a member of the Reichsbankrat .
