Johannes Stober (born September 28, 1968 in Karlsruhe ) is a German SPD politician .

education and profession

Johannes Stober completed his school career with the Abitur at the Bismarck-Gymnasium Karlsruhe . After school, he trained as a mathematical-technical assistant at Hoechst AG in Frankfurt am Main . This was followed by a degree in computer science at the University of Karlsruhe . From 2001 to 2007 he worked as a software developer at PTV AG in Karlsruhe.

In addition to his partisan work, he is a member of IG Metall , Friends of Nature, Workers 'Welfare, PRO BAHN, Verkehrsclub Deutschland, Citizens' Action Environmental Protection Central Upper Rhine Region (BuZo), Against Forgetting - for Democracy e. V. and the Landesvereinigung Baden in Europa e. V.

Johannes Stober joined the SPD in 1992 and was regional coordinator of the Baden-Württemberg university groups for the Jusos from 1995 to 1997 and spokesman for the Karlsruhe Jusos from 1997 to 1999. In the parent party, he was a member of the Karlsruhe district executive from 1998 to 2006 and chairman of the Oberreut local association from 2003 to 2013 .

Since April 11, 2006, he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg . He was elected in the state elections in March 2006 in the Karlsruhe I constituency. In his first term, he sat for his group in the Committee on Science, Research and the Arts and the Environment Committee. Since his re-election in 2011, he has been the energy policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group. In 2013 he moved to the Committee for Finance and Economics and took on the role of housing policy spokesman. In addition, he was a representative of the state parliament on the administrative board of the Badisches Staatstheater, on the foundation board of the Center for Art and Media Technology (ZKM) and on the Upper Rhine Council . In the state elections in 2016 , he received 13.2% of the vote and therefore no mandate.
