Johannes Wunderlich

Johannes Wunderlich (born June 5, 1876 in Leipzig ; † December 30, 1935 there ) was a German judge and politician ( DVP ).

Life and work

After attending community school and graduating from the König-Albert-Gymnasium in Leipzig, Wunderlich studied law at the universities in Freiburg im Breisgau , Berlin , Munich and Leipzig. He passed the first state examination, doctorate at the University of Leipzig to Dr. jur. and worked from 1901 to 1905 as a trainee lawyer at the Leipzig District and Regional Court . In 1905 he passed the second state examination in law. He then worked as an assessor at the district court in Colditz and at the regional court in Leipzig until 1910 . In the latter, he worked as a magistrate until the outbreak of war. From August 1914 to February 1919 he took part in the First World War as a soldier . During the war he served in the Landwehr Infantry Regiment No. 101, most recently as leader of a volunteer battalion on the Eastern Front . Wunderlich was appointed district judge in 1919 and was director of the Leipzig district court since 1922.

politics

Wunderlich was a member of the German Reichstag from May 31, 1921, when he replaced the deceased Member of Parliament Wilhelm Tuch , until his resignation on March 31, 1930. In parliament he represented the constituency of Leipzig. He was a central figure in the legal committee of the Reichstag.

Imperial Court

On April 1, 1930, he entered the Reich Court. There has been speculation about this step for two years, the specific point in time was considered "surprising". At that time he was second chairman of the German Association of Judges .
