Johannes Gerardus ter Schure SDB (born June 21, 1922 in Steenwijkerwold , † April 11, 2003 in Nijmegen ) was a Dutch religious priest and Roman Catholic bishop .

In 1943 ter Schure joined the Salesians of Don Bosco and was ordained a priest on July 1, 1951. In 1957 he became director of the branch in Rijswijk and later in The Hague , and in 1961 Provincial of the Dutch Province. He made a name for himself in particular at the Special Synod of the Dutch Bishops in Rome in January 1980. Bishop Joannes Baptist Matthijs Gijsen appointed him Vicar General of the Diocese of Roermond . On October 4, 1984 he was named auxiliary bishop in this diocese by Pope John Paul II , with the titular diocese of Sigus . The episcopal ordination took place on December 1, 1984 by Bishop Gijsen; Co- consecrators were Archbishop Rosalio Lara SDB and Auxiliary Bishop Alphonsus Castermans .

On January 31, 1985 he was appointed Bishop of 's-Hertogenbosch . After his retirement on June 13, 1998, he worked as a pastor in Alphen in the province of Gelderland. In the last months of his life he was cared for in the Berchmanianum in Nijmegen .
