John Aloysius O'Mara
John Aloysius O'Mara (born November 17, 1924 in Buffalo ) is Bishop Emeritus of Saint Catharines .
Life
John Aloysius O'Mara was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Toronto on June 1, 1951 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him Bishop of Thunder Bay on May 24, 1976 . The Archbishop of Toronto Philip Francis Pocock donated him episcopal ordination on June 29 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the auxiliary bishops Francis Valentine Allen and Thomas Benjamin Fulton .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Saint Catharines on February 2, 1994, and he was inducted into office on April 13 of the same year. On May 6, 1998, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
