The Diocese of Thunder Bay ( Latin Dioecesis sine Tonitralis , English Diocese of Thunder Bay ) is one in Canada situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Thunder Bay .
history
The Diocese of Thunder Bay was on April 29, 1952 by Pope Pius XII. with the Apostolic Constitution Cotidiano prope from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface and the Diocese of Sault Sainte Marie established as the Diocese of Fort William and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Toronto as a suffragan . On February 26, 1970, the Diocese of Fort William was renamed the Diocese of Thunder Bay.
