Frederick Bernard Henry

Frederick Bernard Henry (born April 11, 1943 in London ) is a Canadian clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Calgary .

Life

Frederick Bernard Henry was ordained a priest on May 25, 1968 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Auxiliary Bishop in London and Titular Bishop of Carinola on April 18, 1986 . He received his episcopal ordination on June 24th of the same year by the Bishop of London, John Michael Sherlock ; Co- consecrators were Marcel André J. Gervais , Archbishop of Ottawa , and Anthony Frederick Tonnos , Bishop of Hamilton .

He was named Bishop of Thunder Bay on March 24, 1995, and inducted into the office on May 11 of the same year. He was named Bishop of Calgary on January 19, 1998, and ordained in office on March 19 of that year.

On January 4, 2017, Pope Francis accepted his early resignation.
