John Bosco Auram

John Bosco Auram (born October 19, 1972 in Kandoka , West New Britain Province , Papua New Guinea ) is a Papua New Guinea clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Kimbe .

Life

John Bosco Auram attended the boys' seminary in Ulapia and then studied at the Sacred Heart seminary in Rapolo. On January 17, 2004, he received the sacrament of ordination for the Diocese of Kimbe . This made him only the second priest to be ordained for the diocese established a few months earlier.

After a year as chaplain at Kimbe Cathedral , he was sub-rain of the boys' seminary from 2005 to 2007 and then of the seminary in Vanimo until 2008 . After a few months in pastoral care, he worked from 2009 to 2011 as an educator and professor at the two seminars that he had attended before his ordination. From 2012 to 2013 he studied at the Priestly Education Institute in Omaha and at the Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome. After renewed pastoral work and participation in the formation of priests, he studied pastoral theology from 2016 to 2019 at the University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Manila , where he obtained his licentiate and was spiritual at the seminary of Manila during his stay . Then he was authorized rector of the Propaedeuticum in Rapolo until his appointment as bishop .

On October 18, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Kimbe. He received his episcopal ordination on January 25 of the following year.
