Lucas Dau Ze Jeimphaung

Lucas Dau Ze Jeimphaung SDB (born October 18, 1962 in Hpa Hping , Shan State , Burma ) is a Myanmar religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Lashio .

Life

Lucas Dau Ze Jeimphaung joined the order of the Salesians of Don Bosco and studied philosophy at the Salesian philosopher in Anisakan . At the same time he obtained a bachelor's degree in history in Rangoon . After theological studies at the seminary in Yangon he put on 6 May 1993, the profession , and received on 21 April 1996, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

After his ordination he was an economist for the aspirant of his order in Anisakan until 2003. He then went to the Philippines to do a postgraduate course for three years . He graduated from Ateneo de Manila University with a degree in family counseling in 2004 and a master's degree in pastoral sociology from the Asian Social Institute in Manila in 2006 . In the following years he worked in leading positions within his order, as the person responsible for pastoral care for young people and as a pastor. Since 2017 he has been rector of the Salesian philosopher in Pyin U Lwin .

On October 18, 2019, Pope Francis appointed him Coadjutor Bishop of Lashio. The Archbishop of Yangon , Charles Maung Cardinal Bo SDB, donated him episcopal ordination on January 29 of the following year . Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Myanmar, Archbishop Paul Tschang In-Nam , and the Archbishop of Mandalay , Marco Tin Win .

With the resignation of Philip Lasap Za Hawng on June 24, 2020, he succeeded him as Bishop of Lashio.
