John Patrick Dolan (born June 8, 1962 in San Diego , California , USA ) is an American clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in San Diego .

Life

John Dolan studied philosophy at St. Francis Seminary and the University of San Diego (1981–1985) and theology at St. Patrick Seminary in Menlo Park (1985–1989). He received on 1 July 1989. by Bishop Leo Thomas Maher , the sacrament of Holy Orders . After pastoral work in the Diocese of San Diego, he became Episcopal Vicar for the clergy and pastor of the St. John Congregation in San Diego in 2016 .

On 19 April 2017 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Uchi Maius and auxiliary bishop in San Diego. He was ordained episcopal on June 8th of that year by the Bishop of San Diego, Robert Walter McElroy . Co- consecrators were Bishop Emeritus of San Diego, Robert Henry Brom , and Bishop of Monterey, California , Richard John Garcia .
