John Gidding

John Gidding (born January 7, 1977 in Istanbul , Istanbul Province , Turkey ) is a Turkish architect , television actor and former fashion model.

Gidding started modeling in 2000 when he was still a student. Even then he was aware of his homosexuality . He appeared on the catwalk for Armani , Gucci and Hugo Boss , among others , before he was represented by Wilhelmina Models in New York City . Before starting the design profession, Gidding became the showcase model for Jhane Barnes in 2004 and 2005. He was also featured on the covers of romance novels .

Life

Gidding was born in Istanbul. His father was a US national while his mother was an ethnic Turkish woman .

He grew up in Turkey until he went to the United States to study at a college. Before that, he attended the American School in Leysin ( Switzerland ). He graduated from Yale University in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in architecture. He received his masters degree from the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University . At Yale University he sang a cappella with the Society of Orpheus and Bacchus , and choral music with the Yale Glee Club and the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum .

Gidding later moved to New York City where he his company John Gidding Design, Inc. opened. Before that he worked for Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates as a designer for two years .

Giddings entry into the television business began with the shipment Knock First of ABC Family , where he and three other designer makeover made for bedrooms of young people. Gidding's previous 2006 television series Designed to Sell was retired in early 2011, but reruns are still on HGTV, and Knock First is syndicated worldwide.
