Daniel Scholz (* 1975 in Görlitz ) is a German actor .

Life

Daniel Scholz, born in Saxony , grew up in his hometown of Görlitz. From autumn 1998 to summer 2002 he studied acting at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main .

After completing his training, he received his first permanent engagement at the Nationaltheater Mannheim (2003–2006). This was followed by a two-year permanent engagement at the Landesbühne Niedersachsen Nord in Wilhelmshaven from 2005 to 2008 , where he a. a. when Danton and Wilhelm Tell (director: Christian Hockenbrink ) stood on the stage.

From the 2008/09 season he was engaged at the Staatstheater Kassel . Here he played u. a. Pentheus in Die Bakchen (Direction: Gustav Rueb ), Leicester in Maria Stuart (Direction: Schirin Khodadadian ), Rodolfo in Das Leben der Bohème (Direction: Martin Schulze ) and Count Almaviva in The Great Day or Figaro's Wedding (Direction: Patrick Schlösser ) played.

From 2011 to 2017 he was a member of the State Theater in Nuremberg . At the Nuremberg theater, a. a. Marquis Posa in Don Karlos (premiere: 2013, director: Schirin Khodadadian), Graf Wetter von Strahl in Das Käthchen von Heilbronn (premiere: 2014, director: Bettina Bruinier ), Hoederer in Die dirty hands (premiere: 2015, director: Schirin Khodadadian ) and the protagonist Winston Smith in a stage version of the Orwell novel 1984 (premiere: 2015, director: Christoph Mehler ). He also played Wilhelm Till again in Nuremberg , under the direction of Volker Schmalöer , in a new production of the Schiller play in the 2015/16 season. In the 2016/17 season he played Mr John in a new production of Hauptmann's play Die Ratten (director: Sascha Hawemann ).

At the beginning of the 2017/18 season, Scholz moved to the Darmstadt State Theater . There he made his debut as Captain Holofernes in Judith . In the 2017/18 season he also took on the role of Schupo Alfons Klostermeyer in a new production of the Horváth play Faith, Love and Hope (director: Christoph Mehler). At the beginning of the 2018/19 season, Scholz played the role of the baron in a stage adaptation of Michael Haneke's film The White Ribbon by director Christoph Frick .

Scholz also worked in some film and television productions and in commercials. In July 2016 (episode 734) he was seen in the television series In All Friendship in a leading role in the episode; he played the family man Hanno Seyfried, the husband of an overweight patient with Cushing's syndrome . In the 5th season of the ZDF series Bettys Diagnose (2019), Scholz took on one of the episode roles as the father of a boy suffering from diphtheria . In the 17th season of the ZDF series SOKO Cologne (2019), Scholz also had one of the episode roles as a suspect.

The short advertising film Primagas GmbH - Der Kundenberater (2017), starring Daniel Scholz, was awarded the Silver Dolphin in October 2018 in the “Corporate Image Films” category at the Media and TV Awards in Cannes .

Scholz also emerges as a reciter and gives readings. He lives in Darmstadt and Cologne .
