Patrick Schlösser

Patrick Schlösser (born November 26, 1971 in Bitburg ; † February 16, 2017 in Berlin ) was a German theater director .

Schlösser began his career in 1993 as an assistant director at the State Theater in Mainz . In 1996 he accompanied the local director Anna Badora as an assistant to the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus . In Düsseldorf he assisted other directors such as Wilfried Minks and Einar Schleef . In 1999 he advanced as a director with the play Messer in Hennen by David Harrower and in 1999 received the promotion award of the city of Düsseldorf for this work and in 2000 for his first four productions the promotion award of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia for young artists .

Until 2005 connected to the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and worked there as a director, Schlösser was also permanent in-house director at the Schauspielhaus Bochum from 2000–2002 . Since 2002 he has also made guest appearances as a director at various theaters , including the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg , the Deutsches Theater Berlin , the Theater Basel and the Schauspielhaus Graz .

From 2010 to 2014, Patrick Schlösser was senior theater director in charge of the drama at the Kassel State Theater . There he relied on cross-disciplinary projects, such as his open-air production of The Black Rider , promoted new authors and placed particular emphasis on a theater in which the ensemble interacts symbiotically and carries the productions as a unit. Since 2014 he has worked as a freelance director at various German-speaking theaters.

He has maintained a continuous collaboration over the years with the outfitters Etienne Pluss , Uta Meenen and Katja Wetzel , as well as the composer Wolfgang Siuda .
