John Leeson

John Leeson (born March 16, 1943 in Leicester , England ) is a British actor .

Life

After graduating from school, John Leeson first worked in a bookstore. He later worked as a porter in the hospital. In 1964 he completed his acting training at the Royal Academy of Arts . This was followed by some appearances in films and television series, as well as in some plays in London's West End . From 1977 to 1988, John Leeson was the spokesman for the K9 robot dog in 61 episodes of the British television series Doctor Who . He also read some Doctor Who audio books. In 2006 John Leeson resumed his role of K9. He voiced K9 again in Doctor Who and later in the Doctor Who spin off television series The Sarah Jane Adventures . He also took over the voice of the main character K9 in the 26 episodes of the television series K-9 . In 2013, John Leeson's autobiography Tweaking The Tail was published. It has been published in the UK as a book and an audio book.
