John O'Hara (Bishop)

John O'Hara (born February 7, 1946 in Jersey City , New Jersey , USA ) is an American clergyman and auxiliary bishop in New York .

Life

O'Hara initially obtained a bachelor's degree in English and worked as a radio reporter for four years. He entered the St. Joseph's seminary in Yonkers and received on 1 December 1984, the sacrament of the priesthood for the Archdiocese of New York.

John O'Hara has served in various parishes in pastoral care and was appointed director for strategic planning of parish structures in 2013.

On 14 June 2014 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Ath Truim and auxiliary bishop in New York. The episcopal ordination donated it and the same time appointed Auxiliary Bishops Peter Byrne and John Jenik the Archbishop of New York, Timothy Cardinal Dolan , on 4 August of the same year. Co-consecrators were the New York Auxiliary Bishops Dominick John Lagonegro and Gerald Thomas Walsh .
