John Powell (middle distance runner)
John Powell ( John Vincent "Jack" Powell ; born November 2, 1910 in Wealdstone , today London Borough of Harrow , † July 27, 1982 in Felpham , West Sussex ) was a British middle -distance runner whose special distance was the 800-meter distance .
In 1932 he was seventh at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles , starting in 1934 for England fourth over 880 yards at the British Empire Games in London . At the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936 , he reached the semi-finals over 800 m.
In 1936 he won the British Championship over 880 yards. In the hall, he was British champion over 600 yards in 1936 and over 880 yards in 1937.
