John Thomas "Jack" Eggleston (born December 9, 1988 in Noblesville , Indiana ) is an American basketball player . Eggleston is 2.03 meters tall and plays in the position of power forward .

career

John Thomas Eggleston played at St. Thomas Aquinas High School before moving to the University of Pennsylvania . In the “Quakers” basketball team, Eggleston quickly became a top performer. In his senior year, the Power Forward scored 13.2 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per match. He left college in 2011 and ended up with 1,248 points in the NCAA Division I Basketball Championship (17th place on the University of Pennsylvania's “All Time Scoring List”).

In August 2011, the Bayer Giants Leverkusen announced the commitment of Eggleston. Coach Achim Kuczmann returned to Leverkusen in the summer after three years with the Giants Düsseldorf and wanted to get the basketball record champion in the ProB back on track. Kuczmann justified Eggleston's commitment with the words "that this is the perfect all-rounder for his team".

In his first season for Leverkusen, Eggleston had to struggle with injuries again and again. However, at the end of the season, the American played a decisive role in keeping the Bayer Giants relegated. In the ProB PlayDowns against the Giessen Pointers , Eggleston had an average of 27.0 points per game in three games. The increase in performance at the end of the 2011/12 season came at the right time, because those responsible for the Rhinelander then offered Eggleston a contract extension. At the end of July 2012 he signed his new working paper with the former "Giant from the Rhine".

John Eggleston made his breakthrough in ProB in the 2012/13 season at the side of guard Josh Parker . The two Americans carried the Bayer Giants Leverkusen to the final of the ProB playoffs, where they defeated their big rivals, the Schwelmer Baskets , and won the championship. Eggleston showed a very good game in the playoff game against BSW Sixers on March 31, 2013. There he got a triple-double (two-selling in three positive statistical categories), with 16 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists. He finished the 2012/13 season with an average of 15.3 points per game and 12.8 rebounds per game.

After a few months of funding, the Bayer Giants Leverkusen succeeded in advancing to the ProA . Eggleston then took up the offer of his previous employer and hired another time in Leverkusen. He went basket hunting for the Giants for three years and was an absolute top performer of the "Giants".

On August 31, 2014, USC Heidelberg (MLP Academics Heidelberg) announced that Eggleston would play for the Baden-Württemberg team in the coming season. For the Heidelberger Eggleston was active in all 30 regular season games and averaged 9.0 points per game and secured 5.4 rebounds per round. For the first time he managed to move into the playoffs at ProA level, but there they lost 3-0 to the later promoted team, the Gießen 46ers .

In the summer of 2015, he moved from Heidelberg to the first division of the Czech Republic at Ústí nad Labem. However, the American was not happy there and joined the Bundesliga relegated Gladiators Trier in the ProA in November 2015 . He played for the Moselans until the end of the 2016/17 season.
