John W. Morgan III. (* in Freeport , New York ) is a former Lieutenant General of the United States Army (USA). Morgan recently commanded the Allied Force Command of NATO in Heidelberg .

education

Morgan earned a B.Sc. in criminology from the University of Delaware and an M.Sc. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the National Defense University in Washington, DC

Career

Morgan served in various posts from 1998 to the rank of general ; from September 2005 to August 2006 he served as deputy commanding general of the 1st US Corps at Fort Lewis , from November 2007 to October 2009 as commander of the 2nd US Infantry Division in South Korea and from May 2010 (with the appointment of lieutenant general) to its dissolution in March 2013 as commander of the Allied Force Command of NATO in Heidelberg .
