John Wilson (bishop)

John Wilson (born July 4, 1968 in Sheffield , South Yorkshire , England ) is an English Roman Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Southwark .

Life

John Wilson received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Leeds on July 29, 1995 .

Pope Francis appointed him titular bishop of Lindisfarna and auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Westminster on November 24, 2015 . The episcopal ordination donated it and the same time appointed Paul McAleenan the Archbishop of Westminster, Vincent Nichols Cardinal , on 25 January the following year. Co-consecrators were Auxiliary Bishops John Sherrington and Nicholas Hudson .

Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Southwark on June 10, 2019. The inauguration took place on July 25th of the same year.
