John Zander ( John Adolf Fredrik Zander ; born January 31, 1890 in Stockholm , † June 9, 1967 ibid) was a Swedish medium and long-distance runner .

In the team race over 3000 m at the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912, he finished in 10th place. Although he did not make it into the points classification as fourth of the Swedish team, he was awarded a silver medal like the rest of the team. He was seventh over 1500 m .

In 1917 he set two world records: on July 12th with 8:35.7 min over 3000 m and on August 5th with 3: 54.7 min over 1500 m. He improved the 3000 meter mark the following year, first on July 15 to 8: 34.8 min and then on August 7 to 8: 33.1 min.

In 1920 he did not reach the finish line at the Olympic Games in Antwerp over 1500 m in the final. In the 3000 meter team race, his placement was not recorded.

Five times he was national champion over 1500 m (1913, 1915-1918), twice over 800 m (1912, 1913) and over 5000 m (1917, 1918) and once in the 3000 meter obstacle course (1915).
