Career
Jon Song-chol made his debut as a 24-year-old at the 2010 World Cup in Division III for the North Korean national team and promptly rose with the team to Division II. The North Koreans did not compete there in 2011 for financial reasons. So he was also on the ice for the East Asians in the lowest division in 2012 , 2013 and 2014 . In 2015 Jon made another attempt towards promotion with the North Koreans at the tournament in Izmir . This time the tournament winner returned to Division II.
At club level, Jon plays for Taesongsan in the North Korean ice hockey league .
