Jonah Anthony Bolden (born January 2, 1996 in Melbourne , Victoria ) is an Australian basketball player .

career

The son of former professional basketball player Bruce Bolden began his club career at the age of five with the Bankstown Bruins in Sydney . He moved to the United States in 2013 and played for the Brewster Academy team in New Hampshire in the 2013-14 season . From 2014 to 2016 he was a member of the basketball team at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). In the 2014/15 season he did not play a game, in 2015/16 he played 31 games for UCLA and scored 4.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per encounter. Bolden then decided to switch to the professional camp. He played for FMP Belgrade in Serbia, in the NBA drafting process in 2017, the rights to the Australian went to the Philadelphia 76ers . He spent the 2017/18 game year with the Israeli top team Maccabi Tel Aviv . With Maccabi he also took part in the EuroLeague .

In July 2018, the Philadelphia 76ers provided him with a contract. In February 2020, Bolden was removed from Philadelphia's squad, the Australian had only appeared in four NBA games in the 2019/20 season and had mostly played for the Delaware Blue Coats training team . In mid-February 2020, he signed a ten-day contract with the Phoenix Suns .

National team

Bolden was a member of the Australian selection that took part in the 2013 U19 World Cup. He was part of the Australian national team ahead of the 2019 World Cup, but left the team before the tournament for personal reasons.
