Jonas Gabler

Jonas Gabler (born October 12, 1981 ) is a German political scientist from Berlin .

Live and act

Gabler studied at the Free University of Berlin until 2008 and completed a semester abroad at the University of Milan . His diploma thesis is entitled Ultracultures and Right-Wing Extremism - Football Fans in Germany and Italy . Since his studies he has been working as a freelance journalist on the topics of fan culture , ultras , discrimination and anti-discrimination .

Through his 2010 published book The Ultras - Football fans and football cultures in Germany he got big nationwide attention, led several reading tours by and was also in television programs such as the current sports club of the ZDF invited. The book has now been published in its fifth edition by PapyRossa-Verlag . Due to his mostly fan-friendly positions, he was also able to publish articles in the Germany-wide fanzine Blickfang Ultra and was invited to readings by various Ultra groups.

From 2012 to October 2015 he was a. a. Gunter A. Pilz works in the competence group "Fan Culture and Sport-Related Social Work" (KoFaS) at the University of Hanover . Before that, he was also the director of historical tours at the Berliner Unterwelten association. He is a fan of Hertha BSC .
