During the A-League break, he played for a few months at Sunshine George Cross before joining Adelaide United , where he had signed a two-year contract in March 2007.
In the AFC Champions League season 2008 , when Adelaide advanced to the final, Salley could not participate, as the Brazilians Cássio , Cristiano and Diego Walsh already occupied the three foreigner places and Salley, although naturalized in April of that year, in football - Regulations didn't count as an Australian player.
When he was increasingly used as a substitute player in the 2008/09 season, he was dissatisfied with his situation at Adelaide and a contract extension was ruled out early on. Nevertheless, he moved into the regular formation after the two semi-final defeats against Melbourne Victory and moved into the Grand Final after a 1-0 win against Queensland with Adelaide . There they faced Melbourne again and lost 1-0, although Salley successfully took Melbourne playmaker Carlos Hernández out of the game.
In March 2009 he moved to the Chinese first division club Shaanxi Chanba a few weeks before the start of the season .
