Jonathan Levine

Jonathan A. Levine (born June 18, 1976 in New York ) is an American film director and screenwriter .

Life

Jonathan Levine studied arts and semiotics at Brown University and after graduation worked as the personal assistant to film director Paul Schrader .

After various short films, Levine's first feature film All the Boys Love Mandy Lane was released in 2006 . In 2008, The Wackness followed, his second directorial work. The film won the audience award at the Sundance Film Festival .

In 2011 he made his final breakthrough with the tragic comedy 50/50 - Friends for (survival) life with Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Seth Rogen . In 2013 Levine filmed Isaac Marion's debut novel Warm Bodies , followed in 2015 by the comedy Die Highligen Drei Könige , again starring Gordon-Levitt and Rogen.

Levine developed the television series Rush , which had a season in 2014.
