Jonathan Pereira Rodríguez (born May 12, 1987 in Vigo ) is a Spanish football player . He has been under contract with AD Alcorcón since 2017 .

Career

Pereira started his career in the UD Santa Mariña youth team . In 2002 he moved to the youth department of Villarreal FC , where he was brought to the second team in 2004. After two seasons in the Tercera Division, Pereira joined the first team in the 2006/07 season. He also played in the B team, which made it to the Segunda Division B. The striker made his debut in the top Spanish league on October 21, 2006 against UD Levante . Pereira scored 1-1 in the draw, although he was substituted on just a minute earlier. He also received a yellow card.

Pereira also made his debut at European club level this season. In the UI Cup he came into play against the representative from Slovenia NK Maribor on July 22, 2006 in the 82nd minute for Cani . The game in Maribor ended 1-1. At the end of the season, Villarreal was fifth in the league.

In the 2007/08 season, Pereira was awarded to Racing de Ferrol in the second division. The club was relegated with the striker. Another loan followed in the following season. This time Pereira played at Racing Santander in the Primera Divisíon and was a regular there. You finished twelfth in the league.

At the beginning of the 2009/10 season he returned to Villarreal . After an autumn season, the final farewell to FC came and the Spaniard moved to Betis Sevilla , again in the second highest division in Spain.

On January 1, 2013 Pereira returned to Villarreal FC in the second division and managed to get promoted there.

Internationally, he has so far only played for the youth teams in his home country. Pereira Rodríguez took part in the 2009 European Under-21 Football Championship in Sweden . He came into play in the last group game against Finland in the 68th minute. The game in Gothenburg was won 2-0. However, Spain retired as third party behind Germany and England .
