Jonathan De Lima Reis (born June 6, 1989 in Contagem ) is a Brazilian soccer player .

Career

Jonathan Reis was signed in 2007 by the Dutch top club PSV Eindhoven . Before that he played from 2005 to 2007 in the youth of the Brazilian first division club Atlético Mineiro . The Brazilian made his professional debut on August 19, 2007 in a 2-0 win at Heracles Almelo . In this game he also gave his first assist in a competitive game. In the 2007/08 season he played two more times in the first division and made his debut in the UEFA Champions League against Inter Milan on December 12, 2007. Mostly he was still used in the second team, Jong PSV.

At the end of the 2007/08 season and in preparation for the 2008/09 season, Reis struggled with injuries. In order to give him more match practice, the PSV officials decided to loan him to FC Tupi in Brazil.

After Reis returned to PSV from Brazil after the 2009/10 winter break, he was noticed by extreme fatigue. On January 24, 2010, PSV Eindhoven announced that they were dismissing Reis for taking banned substances with immediate effect as the striker refused to give any help. In July 2010 he returned to PSV Eindhoven and signed a three-year contract. On October 20, 2010, Reis fell out of favor again with PSV, this time due to a drive under the influence of alcohol. On October 24, 2010, he scored his first three-pack for PSV Eindhoven in a 10-0 win over Feyenoord Rotterdam . At the end of the 2010/11 season, his contract ran out.

After six months of unemployment, he was hired by Vitesse Arnhem on December 4, 2011 . After coach Peter Bosz had no longer considered Reis for the Eredivisie squad since September 2013, the contract, which ran until 2016, was terminated on December 1, 2013.
