The Jonk is a right tributary of the Mahanadi in central-east India .

The Jonk rises in the west of the state of Odisha in the Nuapada district . The headwaters are located on the Sundabeda plateau at an altitude of about 700  m . The river flows mostly in a northerly direction. The Beniadhas waterfall lies on the upper reaches . 10 km southwest of the district capital Nuapada , the river is dammed by the 33.6 m high Patora Dam . Shortly afterwards it forms the border between the states of Chhattisgarh in the west and Odisha in the east over a length of 50 km . The lower 80 km the Jonk flows through the two districts Mahasamund and Balodabazar in Chhattisgarh. 30 km before it flows into the Mahanadi at Shivrinarayan , the river cuts through the Barnawapara Forest Range . The Jonk has a length of about 210 km.
