The Nuapada District ( Oriya ନୂଆପଡ଼ା ଜିଲ୍ଲା Nū'āpaṛā Jillā ) is located in the west of the Indian state of Odisha . The administrative seat is the eponymous city of Nuapada .
The district was established on April 1, 1993. Before that he was part of the Kalahandi district .
location
The district extends over an area of 3852 km² (according to other information 3407.5 km²). It is located in the Eastern Ghats between the Mahanadi rivers in the west and Tel in the east.
Residents
In the 2011 census, the population was 610,382. The gender ratio was 1,021 women for 1,000 men. The literacy rate was 57.35% (70.29% for men, 44.76% for women). 98.48% of the population profess Hinduism .
